Redesign Connections is a design created for the Maryland Institute College of Art Brown Center, a glass modern building designed by Ziger/Snead Architects.
The structure was designed on AutoCAD, 3D printed (for prototyping), and an animation was created using Rhino 3D and 3ds Max.
Description of the project:
Steel rod structure and translucent stretched fabric. This simplistic
and elegant addition to the brown center encourages one’s imagination to
spread in all directions. Space, mind, and body all transcend through
this journey—While dividing the openness of the brown center, the
installation frames the building’s various levels, drawing a
relationship between all.The warmth of redesign connections complements
the cool colors of the concrete walls. Every angle of sight allows for a
new interpretation of the piece as well as the center.
